Step 1 — Apply for your Seller’s Permit (Free)
👉 Go to the official CDTFA (California Department of Tax & Fee Administration) site:

You’ll fill out:

  • Business info (name, address, etc.)
  • What you sell (example: clothing, apparel, etc.)
  • Your ID info (driver’s license or SSN/EIN)

Step 2 — Download & Fill Out Your Resale Certificate

🔗 Download CDTFA-230 (General Resale Certificate)

Fill it out with:

  • Your business name & address
  • Your Seller’s Permit Number
  • Description: “Apparel for resale” (or what you sell)
  • Your signature & date

💡 You can sign it digitally or print, sign, and take a photo.

Step 3 — Send It To Us
Once you have both:

  1. Your Seller’s Permit number, and
  2. A signed CDTFA-230 resale certificate
