BASE Distressed Blanks are the original BASE blanks—hand-grinded, then re-washed to achieve that perfectly worn-in, lived-in feel customers pay more for. Every piece has natural texture, soft fades, and subtle imperfections that create real vintage character. Nothing looks forced. Nothing looks mass-produced.

Vintage Charcoal is pigment dyed, which requires additional processing and cost—resulting in richer fades and a true vintage tone.

Distressed Black & White are aggressively washed after grinding to create an aged, wrinkled look that most manufacturers won’t attempt. That extra step is what makes them stand out—and impossible to replicate at scale.
Every unit is hand-distressed to order, making each piece slightly different and genuinely unique.

- BASE Pigment Dyed (more treated than the regular BASE blanks) Single top stitch below neck rib.
- Run a bit larger than the BASE White and Black. We account for shrinkage in the process, so even after washing and drying, they won’t shrink smaller than the BASE—just not always down to the exact same size.
- Washed-out, sun-faded. Each tee’s been pigment dyed, which means the color sits on top of the fabric—not soaked through—so you get that faded, worn-for-years kind of look. Soft but textured. Muted but rich. No two shirts are exactly the same, and that’s the point.

BASE Distressed Blanks start with our classic BASE and take it up a notch. Tubular, classic fit. Each tee literally takes 7 minutes to hand-grind—sleeves, neck, hem—then it’s washed again so the distressing wears naturally. The result is a worn-down, aged tee with authentic texture, subtle fades, and that handmade vintage vibe that makes any collection stand out. Order this blank if you’re looking to maximize profit and boost your margins.
Our distressed blanks are excluded from our returns policy since they are distressed by hand to order.

START WITH A TEST/SMALL ORDER BEFORE PLACING A LARGER ONE — ESPECIALLY FOR:
- RAW EDGE OR DISTRESSED (TO-ORDER STYLES LIKE RAW EDGE BASE TEES, SHORTS, AND SWEATPANTS) AND DISTRESSED BASE BLANKS. SINCE EXTRA WORK IS ADDED,
- CROPPED PIECES (LIKE THE CROPPED CORDLESS AND CROPPED TEES) SINCE LENGTH CAN VARY BY PREFERENCE.
ABOUT THE CORDLESS PIGMENT DYED HOODIES:
Charcoal Pigment-Dyed and Faded Black run a bit larger than Vintage White, Vintage Black, and Heather Grey.
They’re made bigger on purpose because high-heat dyeing shrinks the cotton.
After the dye process, they never shrink smaller than the non-pigment colors — they’ll just fit slightly larger.
- Our VINTAGE CHARCOAL and RETRO SILVER blanks are pigment-dyed and will shed color onto skin or other items until the excess dye is washed out. For more info please see "IMPORTANT NOTES" below.
- Due to the garment dye process, slight color variations may occur between batches. Each production lot absorbs dye differently depending on fabric composition and environmental factors. These tonal shifts are normal and expected with garment-dyed pieces.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT PRINT WITH WATER-BASED INKS ON CHARCOAL PIGMENT DYED SHIRTS AND HOODIES. USE PLASTISOL INKS WITH A WHITE BASE. (Printshops should be aware of non-reactive dyes. If they aren't, you are highly advised to work with a more experienced shop.) This doesn’t apply to the vintage black, heather grey, and white cordless hoodies.
Our vintage charcoal blanks are pigment-dyed and will shed color onto skin or other items until the excess dye is washed out. To care for your garment & minimize color transfer:
- Wash thoroughly before the first use.
- Wash separately for the first few washes.
- Avoid contact with light fabrics/ upholstery/ leather etc.
- Do not spot-clean the garment.
- Avoid harsh detergents.
We aren't liable for damage from color transfer. Use signifies understanding of this risk. Contact customer service for more information.
Due to the dying process, there may be variations in texture and tones in blanks of the same color, especially with different batches.
